Ian spent his younger years attending St Andrews Presbyterian Church in Canberra . After joining the Army and graduating from Royal Military College , Ian had a conversion experience and through the ministry of his Padre, came to worship in the Anglican Church. God called him out of the Services, and into the ordained ministry. Ian said “Once I served Queen, now I serve the King!” Ian's studied at St Marks Theological College in Canberra , served as Curate in Cooma, and was appointed Rector in Batemans Bay in Nov 1996. Ian is married to Jill, a preschool teacher and active in ministry in the church, and has four children. And the dog's name is “Bundeburg”. |
Rev. Colin Walters

Colin has been a member of our parish since 1995. In November 2006 he was Ordained as a Deacon assisting in the parish. He coordinates our small groups, Hope Fellowship , New Beginnings, our Maloneys and Long Beach outreach, and he is one of the leaders our contemporary worship ministry team. Colin is also the chairperson of our Parish Council and Community Life Batemans Bay Inc |
Robynne Carruthers

Robynne has been a member of the Parish since November 1995 and was employed as the Parish Administrator in May 2001. Robynne currently handles all Parish enquiries, pewsheets and various incidentals running a busy parish. Robynne also assists the Rector , Deacon, Retired clergy working within the parish and Parish Council in various duties. She has active roles with the Parish including Youth (Club47) and Sunday School (MP's) ministries.

Liz May

Liz was first commissioned as Lay Pastor in June 1998. Having taught SRE in all three local schools, Batemans Bay Primary, Sunshine Bay & Mogo Primary over the past 10 years, Liz has a heart for children and for seeing the Gospel taught within the schools.
As Children's Ministry Facilitator for the Church of the Ascension, Liz is involved in all the various aspects of this ministry including, Club 47, Youth Service, Missions, Anglican Youth and Christian Surfers Batemans Bay .
Liz is dedicated to Youth Ministry and to ensuring that the youth of this area come to learn that they are valued and loved beyond words by our most Gracious Lord God. |
